Employment Opportunities

To help coordinate our students' accommodations, the Office of Disability Services in New Brunswick employs various auxiliary staff such as office assistants, note takers and proctors. Listed below are currently available positions.

Office Assistants

Office Assistants are graduate students hired as needed by our office to coordinate exam arrangements which may include working with registered students, professors, staff, and proctors. Those interested in being hired as an Office Assistant should fill out the Office Assistant Interest Form and submit a resume to the office (instructions provided on form). To qualify to become an Office Assistant you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled student at Rutgers University
  • Be a graduate student
  • Be eligible to work in the United States

Please note, the Office Assistant role will be performed remotely for Fall 2020.

Note-Taker

Note-takers are students hired by our office to supplement notes taken by a student with a disability in their class. The note-taker generally must have at least a 3.0 G.P.A, and be in good academic standing with the university. Note-takers are compensated  $210.00 for a full semester of notes, with conditions. Those interested in being hired as a note taker should fill out the note taker application form.

Proctor

Proctors are graduate students hired, as needed, by our office to oversee the implementation of exam arrangements made by our office.  Those interested in being hired as a proctor should fill out the proctor interest form.  After submission, a representative from our office will contact you regarding the next available training date. To qualify to become a proctor you must:

  • Be a currently enrolled student at Rutgers University
  • Be a graduate student
  • Be eligible to work in the United States
